Well, we finished reading The Boy from Baby House 10 this evening. As I wrote when we started this book, I challenge anyone to read it and then do nothing.
My opinion has not changed. It is the story of an amazing young boy who survived the system through a series of events that only God could have orchestrated. The book was partially written to expose the horrendous lack of care given to so many children in institutions with the hopes that one day all of these institutions will be closed.
“The purpose of this book is not to divide people into good and evil. Rather, it is to measure humanity by a different scale, from indifferent to caring… if this book reduces, even slightly, the ranks of the indifferent, it will have succeeded.”
In the words of the author, “Give to me a chance.” He speaks for thousands of children.
Do you hear their cries?
