To America

Well, as you know, Jamie and Dasha moved to America at the beginning of this month.

And Jeanne goes to the Embassy tomorrow to officially file a petition for her alien relative (uh, that would be her husband, Kolya!) to be granted an immigration visa interview.

Anna will be stateside for some time this summer…visiting from Kathmandu.

And Jim and I have purchased our roundtrip tickets through Boston for a couple of months from now! We are so excited to see how God is working to coordinate flights, friends, cars, family, accommodations. Trust me, this is going to be one jam-packed whirlwind from one coast to the other…and lots in between.

Please pray for us as we finalize flights, thanking God for the generosity of friends who will offer us beds and even meals as we travel the country to share about God’s work in Ukraine, even through Ukraine Medical Outreach.

We have so much to do between now and then…but we are so excited to see so many of you.

(If you’re wondering whether we’ll be in your neck of the woods, shoot me an e-mail or just ask in the comment section of this post.)

  1. How long are you in the States for? When in the Salisbury area?

    Do you have heat?

  2. You know, you are still invited to the wedding. You should try to make it. 🙂

  3. Suzanne: Easter week in Salisbury…6th through 13th. And YES, we have heat. We never had a probably actually. Thanks for asking, though.

Faith: You know, I would love to be there. But I don’t think we can pull off multiple trips to the States in one year. We WILL be well represented by our trio and two spouses! And we will be expecting many many pictures to be posted!! Thanks so much for including us.

  4. We live close to the Ann Arbor area. Any chances you will be close to that area?

  5. Ann: Why have I thought all along that you live in Virginia? I was really thinking that I might actually meet you in person! We’re not planning to be in Michigan (nor even northern Ohio) this trip, but we will definitely keep that area in mind next go ’round!

  6. So exciting! Yay!

  7. We live real close to the U of M hospital. Maybe, we can meet the next time around.

  8. There are too many U of M’s. I get confused. I always think they are University of Maryland. 🙂

  9. Dasha: We’re ready!!

Ann: We’ll have to pull it together. Just for my own info, did you EVER live in Virginia…or have I just made that up all this time?

    Faith: Michigan, this time!

  10. Will you be in Florida at all? If so, when and where?

  11. TulipGirl: We’ll be in Florida for a weekend…arriving late on the 27th of March (midnightish…ugh) and leaving on the 30th. We’ll be in Venice/Sarasota.

  12. No, I’ve never lived in Virginia. I’ve been in Michigan my whole life.

  13. Ann: No wonder we get along — mid-Westerners! I grew up just north of Cincinnati. And went to Albion College in Michigan very briefly!!

  14. do you already have Easter plans? We’d love to have you and as many people as you’d like to bring along for dinner!!!

  15. Oh man! What an offer!
