Cease-fire achieved, not peace

CNN posted another informative story regarding the meeting between President Medvedev and President Sarkozy — a cease-fire has been negotiated, but they have not truly dealt with the issues that led up to this confrontation.

Check out the links in the article — I found the interactive map particularly interesting. Take a look and see exactly how far Russia invaded its sovereign southern neighbor. At first glance it certainly appears that they were not simply taking care of their citizens living in South Ossetia. Am I missing something here?

  1. Doesn’t look as though you’ve missed a thing to me! Looks like an invasion of a sovereign country.

  2. What power do we have to translate the truth to you? You believe what you want to believe
