Declutter…Day 101

The question is: How great would YOU feel if you removed one unused item from your home each day for a whole year? The declutter challenge.
Toss, Donate, or Sell one item from your home every single day for one year.
No rules.
No advice.

Day 101
Ruthless. I went through an entire box — and a big box at that — containing newspaper clippings and another bazillion pictures. I couldn’t believe that I was throwing away ones that I had kept forever…for some reason. AND I managed to send an envelope-full of pictures home with Jamie — they were pictures of him on various soccer teams and whatever else. I think Dasha might enjoy seeing them. And then THEY can hold on to them for their OWN children to see one day.

What did you dump today?

  1. Thanks for the extra kick in the rear to do some major simplifying and decluttering! I’ve enjoyed reading about your journey and am working on being consistent myself.
Today my goal was to do something about my basement and although I was dealing with a hurt foot from a jump-roping episode the day before heavy rains and water in our basement forced some rapid decluttering. Out went toys that aren’t played with, shoes that are too big or too small for my kids, and then various and sundry items that got too wet to save. Ahhh, feels much better to be rid of 1 bag and box of trash and 1 box of give-aways!

  2. Jessica: Though I haven’t posted her “button” lately (I really need to do that again), my inspiration came from I think we all just need to read something a few times, and if it is supposed to jumpstart us…well, it does! I’m glad my blog has helped you get started!!! And a great start at that! Let me know how you’re doing as you press on!
