A Ukrainian market worker is offering pork to a lady at central market in Kyiv, Ukraine, Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008. According to the state statistics agency, with high inflation rates, food prices skyrocketed in Ukraine during the first six months of the year. Meat prices soared by around 35 percent, fish prices by 17 and prices for bread increased by 25 percent.

Wow! We are certainly feeling the pinch — or full-strength squeeze — of the double whammy of skyrocketing inflation coupled with the dollar dropping in value.

But we have yet to go without food. We’re thankful for affordable and efficient public transportation. We’re confident that God will provide whatever we truly need.

Please pray for this inflation to create opportunities to share hope in Christ. Many people are struggling with even the cost of bread…
